Hi,My name is Kasia Wasko.

I am a design leader and a UX Design Manager at AMazon.

Prior to Amazon, I was the Principal UX Designer Leading Digital Guidance and Advice at Capital One. Through empathy, I strive to create intuitive products and services that solve complex customer problems. As a leader, I seek to develop an inclusive, empathetic and Collaborative team with resilience and a strong bias for action.

Over the past 6 years, I have successfully spearheaded Conversational, NLU and Generative AI CX experiments for organizations including IMDb, Amazon Search, Alexa Shopping, and Capital One. My work has involved designing and implementing innovative solutions that leverage cutting-edge AI technology to enhance user experiences, optimize workflows, and drive business impact.

I enjoy being part of a collaborative team that is committed to invest and participate fully in design challenges. User experience has become a passion, and Design Thinking has been a tool that I have applied across many organizations. UX is a ever evolving practice of synthesizing research, anthropology, business strategy and user needs. Part of why I love this process is that it leads to problem solving, genuinely helps users, and concept development behind a brand or a message. Building the experience around best practice and user needs is a constant challenge when you start making trade offs. However, it is within this challenge that we are able to find a good balance of business strategy and user success. The outcome for my clients is to achieve their business goals through intelligent experiences.

Outside of my UX Designer career, I spend time in a community of surfers along the west coast. I recently took part in a women’s surf residency in Sayulita, Mexico where I formed great connections and explored a new culture. Thanks to this experience, I learned the value of community, and I developed a stronger connection with the earth and sea.

My interests in leadership began early in my career, when I saw that the UX Design discipline needed continued advocacy, and cross disciplinary partnership in order for Design to have a seat at the table. I have actively lead internal process development, team building, and mentoring across organizations such as Amazon and Capital One.

My introduction into UX began at in university at the Minneapolis College of Art and Design. After graduation, I began working as a Interaction Designer at a boutique agency called Sevnthsin. I have designed and developed several mobile platforms and led the design for the Filter iPad application. I went on to Olson where I worked as a User Experience designer and specialist. I worked directly as a UX strategist and designer new business team on innovative pitches. Solo, I led projects for wet n wIld, Baylor College of Medicine, and Sharp. In collaboration with my teammates, we tackled large scale sites for Polaris and Aurora. Within my role at Spyder Trap, I have led the development of internal process. I began the user experience discipline within my team, and worked across all departments to collaborate on client work. A large amount of our clients require continuous consulting for the development of their business. I have been managing and strategizing the development of User Experience approaches for all clients coming into Spyder Trap. This includes Amazon, Deliotte, Optum Health, United Health Care, and ABC Companies.

During my career, I have been teaching UX and Web Design and mentoring new students at the Minneapolis College of Art & Design. I have helped a variety of young to senior level professionals find new paths in UX Design. I spent a great deal of time evaluating performance, and project work. It’s been a great experience to develop others and watch them grow. My leadership ensures clarity in ambiguity, empowering teams to navigate challenges with confidence. I am excited about the opportunity to bring this expertise to new organizations, shaping experiences that deepen connection, solve complex problems, and drive positive impact.
